Impact Story – Taiba Ibrahim Amuda

How a Community Vitality Solutions CBO alumni is using medical and First Aid training to combat malnutrition and support vulnerable families in the Kuada, Nuba Mountain in Sudan.

My name is Taiba Ibrahim Amuda, a proud graduate of Community Vitality Solutions CBO, Cohort IV – 2024. I completed one year medical and First Aid training in Kakuma, Kenya, and I am working with the Bishop Gassis Relief and Rescue Foundation (BGRRF) in the Nutrition Program based in Kauda, Nuba Mountain, Sudan. My passion is to contribute directly to the health and well-being of my community, and I am deeply committed to using my skills to bring hope and healing where it is most needed.

I am motivated by a strong sense of responsibility to my people. Working in the Nutrition program allows me to support families, children, and vulnerable groups with practical solutions to improve their health. I enjoy this work because it connects me directly with my community, and every day I see the impact of my contribution in the lives of those around me.

The Medical and First Aid training by Community Vitality Solutions CBO was life-changing. It empowered me with essential skills to respond to emergencies, care for the sick, and provide immediate support in areas where medical facilities are limited. This training has:

  • Strengthened my ability to save lives in urgent situations.
  • Equipped me to educate families on basic health and nutrition practices.
  • Inspired me to serve with confidence and resilience.

The knowledge I gained has impacted not only me but also my family and community in Sudan. Today, I stand as a health worker who can respond effectively to pressing needs…………..Serving in Nuba Mountain, Sudan comes with many challenges:

  • High malnutrition rates among children, teenage mothers and women.
  • Limited medical supplies and resources in rural areas where primary healthcare services is not accessible which increase vulnerability and strain local health systems.

Despite these challenges, I use my training to adapt and innovate. I conduct nutrition awareness sessions, educate & promote breastfeeding, and teach families how to prepare balanced meals with locally available foods. My First Aid knowledge also enables me to manage emergencies in areas far from hospitals………… “The Medical & First Aid training empowered me to save lives, equipped me to serve with confidence, and inspired me to become a beacon of hope in my community.”

Community Vitality Solutions CBO has been a cornerstone in my journey. The training I received was not just about First Aid—it was about empowerment, resilience, and leadership. It gave me the tools to stand strong in the face of challenges and to serve my community with confidence.

I sincerely thank Community Vitality Solutions CBO for the invaluable opportunity you provided us to train marginalized youth, teenage mothers, and women in Kakuma, Kenya. Your support has empowered me to share knowledge, skills, and hope with those who need it most, creating pathways for brighter futures. I deeply appreciate your commitment to uplifting communities and fostering inclusive growth.
